Prod. 2138 - The Sword in the Stone  - Seq. .002 - "Wart meets Merlin" (I)

These pages of 5/6/1963 introduce Merlin to Wart. We start off with Ollie Johnston including the first intro of Archimedes, then Milt Kahl gets into the schooling of Wart. Close-ups of train by Eric Cleworth, sugar bowl business by Les Clark and a scene of the wolf by John Lounsbery...

I love this sequence and will prepare a mosaic - similar to what Mark Mayerson has done - to post Tuesday and Wednesday (for the followup song.)

It's amazing how different this draft is from those done in the 40's. One animator handles several characters, and no effects animators are included.
