Deems Taylor intro to The Sourcerer's Apprentice, which I have posted nearly 4 years ago. Here it is again it the format of my current Fantasia postings.
Ah yes, a lot of effects animators - and Ugo D'Orsi is probably the head of the effects animation in this sequence as he's responsible for the great water effects!
This is probably the most screened segment of the entire film, why because it's memorable, clever story plot, and...MICKEY!
I heard that "Sorcerer's Apprentice" was made before the rest of Fantasia was established. Jack Brunner was assistant to Ham Luske on the Reluctant Dragon show; I wonder if he turns up on 'Pastoral Symphony', as well as this, in a simmilar system.
Hans, I can't tell you how many incredible documents you've enabled me to see and study, and I am so appreciative that my "thanks" just doesn't seem enough. You've opened treasures for some of us.
Thank you, Michael! It is somehow a great comfort to know that I am not the only one finding this material interesting! Thank you also for all your hard work on your blog: the spectrum of material you post generally amazes me. Your Sunday photos even indicate that you have a life, something I have not been able to conjure up myself...
