The Morkovin Experiment (I)

One of Walt's least successful experiments was getting Dr. Boris V. Morkovin out to the studio to lecture on Humor. It seems to have turned out that theoretical knowledge on the subject does not necessarily result in funny pictures. There are, though, some interesting thoughts gathered in this "resume of the examination" of his first semester course in this 03/09/1936 Studio Bulletin No. 12.

The points are illustrated by artists we know (and maybe some we don't), who were working at the studio at the time. It gives us an insight in, what they thought about the fims, some of which they had themselves worked on. Here is the first half...

Just thought I'd write a note to say I'm enjoying following up on your collection of lectures from the Disney Studio as prompted by the new book 'Before Ever After' by Don Hahn and Tracy Miller-Zarneke. As the lectures appear to mostly be in historical order (?) Dr. Morkovin's interview with Art Babbit on the use of 'the gag manual' is the second lecture immediately after Art Babbit and Ted Sear's write up on 'The Goof'.
