Prod. 2519 - The Rescuers (XXV) - Seq. 013 - Happy Ending
(Just stubled upon a picture of Joe Hale in an interesting article!)
Finally, here are the last eight pages of the Rescuers draft! Again directed solo by Art Stevens, this sequence is animated by Andy Gaskill, John Pomeroy, Dale Baer, Gary Goldman, Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston, Cliff Nordberg and Chuck Harvey.
Ollie has a few "re-use with costume change" scenes, and even has his name spelled wrong on the final scene...
I am, while I type this, rendering comps for the final stereo frames of our latest feature film, The Olsen Gang Gets Polished. More about this later. Right now I just would like to see this finished so I can deliver the framestacks tomorrow to the post facility that produces the DCP's! Maybe get some sleep between now and then, even.

4 days! I was starting to worry there. I hope your production turns out really nice!
Thanks for posting up! People can now learn that Andy Gaskill is a brilliant, but circumstancially underrated animator, what Ron Clements started his Disney carreer from, and that John Pomeroy reached some great heights before his work in Bluth pictures.
In retrospect, I must say Don Bluth's presence on this film is quite overrated. All around the internet people say his influence made this film great; but he didn't animate nearly as much as I would have thought.
Thank you for the learning.
Anything planned to follow? There seems to be lots of enthusiasim towards Bambi. I wouldn't mind seeing 'Legend of Slweepy Hollow'. But, it's up to you.
Yeah I think the ending has its moments although I'd expect Woolie Reitherman directing this sequence.
Thank you for posting the Rescuers drafts, it has been fun to look at and I managed to see the film again and its always a pleasure to see a draft? Three cheers for Hans. :)
So, now that The Olsen Gang is still in near completion and you can still have time to finish it off...is there any future posting of drafts in the works??
Sorry for the delayed comment...I had a school week and nowadays I have very little time to use computers during weekdays.

Also, he doesn't seem to have had control over any specific character - his animation tends to be of the two mouse heroes, who also have substantial animation from Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.
Yeah I find Don Bluth's animation in the film forgettable because most of his animation are least remembered, they're pretty bland and my favourite animation he did was those Rescue Aid Society singers and his stuff for Bernard and Bianca at the zoo are just boring!
However, I enjoy animation from Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, Milt Kahl, Cliff Nordberg, Ron Clements, Andy Gaskill and some others!
Although animators like Bob McCrea did some good Orville animation and the swamp mobile - I'm not getting confused with Bob McCrea being an effects animator or character animator like I was confused about Dick Lucas.
Yeah, I'm counting the number of scenes at the moment of the draft of what each animator did and I need to start on sequence 007 - The Escape Plan and at the moment; Ollie Johnston does the most animation in the film so far and I'll assume that Milt Kahl will eventually take over the throne.
Yeah, its been really fun than I expected it to be - and I do look forward to seeing more drafts in the future and we'll wait and see...
Bob McCrea seems to have played a similar role to Don Patterson or John McManus in the early features... mechanical objects (like Casey Jr or Geppetto's clocks) and animals which aren't required to do much "acting."
Yeah he looks like it - McCrea appears to be one of those "additional animators" and if Bob McCrea did have screen credit on Pinocchio and Dumbo and Don Patterson didn't I would say McCrea did the roles.
In this film (Sequence 006, Scene 123) notice that swampmobile appears to skid like a character a tiny bit a little like Casey Junior.
Although we did see Bob McCrea in Pinocchio in the sequence "Stromboli Imprisons Pinocchio" and McCrea probably animated the cage moving, after Pinocchio was tossed in.
Yeah, it seems Bob McCrea was around in the background for a long time before getting screen credit.
Notice that, now Art Stevens is director he no longer animates Evinrude, who is handled now by whoever is animating the other characters in the scene.
which animation studio subcontracted The Chipmunk Adventure (1987)?
