About Me
- Name: Hans Perk
Interested in animation since 1975, worked in Holland with Danish animator Børge Ring for four years (incl. on the Oscar-winning 'Anna & Bella'), then moved to Denmark in 1984. In SoCal since 2019.
Co-founder in 1988 of A. Film, Europe's foremost animation studio, in business for over 30 years. We are the studio behind 'The Flight before Christmas', 'Help! I'm a Fish', 'Asterix and the Vikings', 'Checkered Ninja' and many more...
Currently the President and CEO of A. Film L.A., Inc. in Los Angeles,
and director of "Miffy the Movie."
Though we are very involved in new techniques, I share a deep passion for Great Classical Animation with everyone at the studio;
Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston's "Illusion of Life" is our bible.

TYTLA
KARP
McDERMOT
Does that mean that Tytla animated Gepetto, Lynn Karp animated Figaro, and what did McDermott do?
Most often, the last name in the list is the responsible effects animator. In this case John R. McDermott (1915-1996).
Some of the other effects animators on this draft: Cornett Wood (1905-1980), Sanford "Sandy" Strother (1904-1985), Andrew A. "Andy" Engman (1911-2004), Joseph A. "Jack" Gayek (1905-1965), Joshua Meador (1911-1965), James Escalante (1901-1985), Ugo D'Orsi (1897-1964), Edwin S. Aardal (1910-1988), Paul Kossoff (1897-1991), R. Frank Follmer (1913-2000), Harry Hamsel (1899-1966), Paul Bush (1909-1980), Daniel S. MacManus (1900-1990), John J. MacManus, Jim Will, Don Tobin, Ted Parmalee, DeBeeson and Reed.
And yes, it looks like Tytla did Geppetto and Karp Figaro.
Who's the "Schull" mentioned on the draft?
Bill Shull (1902-1989) was, as far as I remember, Bill Tytla's assistant, and animator himself on Dumbo and Fantasia, as well. He left the studio after the 1941 strike. He animated later on Tex Avery's film Little Tinker, Half-pint Pygmy and The Cat that hated People... says IMDb...
Bill Schull was also the founder of the Animation Program at UCLA.
