Prod. 2110 (101 Dalmatians) - Seq.004 Introduction of Puppies

After a lot of Milt, Frank, Ollie and Marc, the next sequence is a whole 'nother kettle of fish altogether.

Directed by Ham Luske, laid out by Mac Stewart and Al Zinnen, with puppies by Hal King and Eric Larson. Thunderbolt and Dirty Dawson by Julius Svendsen and Art Stevens, with one scene by Charlie Downs.

This 4th draft of 3/3/59. This seems to be one of the earliest parts of the draft, if not the earliest...
"A whole 'nother" is one of the strangest colloquialisms I picked up in SoCal...

Ah, a favorite sequence of mine. I would have loved to have worked on this stuff, but I got drafted into the US military when "Dalmatians" got under way. I did get back in time to work on the ending of the movie.

Lucky for me, I got to work with both Art and Sven on "Wind Wagon Smith" a few months later.

"This seems to be one of the earliest parts of the draft, if not the earliest..."

Is that why some scenes don't seem to have been assigned to an animator?

Well, spectre, it is the first time I remember seeing a FOURTH draft with unallocated scenes...
