HAM LUSKE?!? Very odd. This peice SCREAMS Jaxon.

No sign of Judge Whitaker. I was sure this would be his footage credit.

Makes me think of some of the more "arty" sequences in Bambi. But the draft doesn't indicate any footage is reused.

I'm surprised to see any character animators on it at all, I assumed it was a Josh Meador vehicle!

BTW, what happened to prod. no. 2053? Was it scrapped, or part of another package feature?

All animators draw very nice deers, as just looking at them on internet first time!

The final shot is probably the most overtly religious image in Disney animation. Of course it goes with the last line of the song but I still find the crucifixion image jarring.

I much prefer the stylized nature imagery, the gamboling deer and especially the shot of the clearing sky with the sunbeam which turns into a truck out of a glistening drop of water. (The branch also, briefly, shows those exotic green tree snails, where did they come up with them?). Anyway, an amazing transition.

Generally, I love most of Melody Time, partially because I see it as a prelude to my favorite Alice in Wonderland. And that trippy Bumble Boogie......
