A. Film L.A. is the Los Angeles associate of A. Film of Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavia's largest and Europe's most ambitious animation studio. Interested in animation since 1975, worked in Holland with Danish animator Børge Ring for four years (incl. on the Oscar-winning 'Anna & Bella'), then moved to Denmark in 1984. In SoCal since 2019.

Hans, one minor problem: You've posted Page 14 which comes up as Page 4 from your previous posting..which can be fixed.
But other than that, GREAT post! I remember a lot of what was included: inc. Nicholas and even that one shot of Woolie of Lady drinking coffee and chewing a doughnut. It strikes to me as an odd scene for Woolie to animate--considering he animated mostly action scenes, but I believe this is a great example of his versatility--as the Lady scene is beautiful and subtle.
George Nicholase (as well as a lot of the animators) does some excellent work of Lady on top of the bed, as well as outside in the garden. He really knew and understood the anatomy of a Cocker Spaniel and its behaviour--as my Spaniel's movement is as identical to Lady's.
Must say the strong use of layouts are gorgeously done, particularly the garden scenes.
I'll be patiently looking forward to the next sequence: a sequence where Hal King's animation is dominated.
Now, now, Steven, don't tell in advance what is coming!

Well Hans, didn't you comment in a blog post some time ago about which scenes Hal King animated? ;-)
Erh... did I? Well, I can't remember. Anyway, do not stop making me aware of links that do not work. I am decidedly against everything that does not work!

It was only a mention as I thought a majority of folks would already know this(just as much as everyone knows Frank animated the 'spaghetti sequence' --but anyway, I'll stop on your behalf.
Frank animated the spaghetti sequence? Well, there's my worldview shattered.

So, Lady is mostly animated by George Nicholas, and Jock by Eric Cleworth - both appear to be under the supervision of Hal King. This is the only time he would be credited as a "directing animator" but after this he would always be the first-billed character animator.
Steven: Have you seen the DVD extras, which shows the animators horsing around with their own dogs and filming the dogs' behaviour for reference? :)
Ken O'Brien animates an incidental human, the Paperboy. Jim and Darling are rarely assigned their own animators here, mostly just animated with Lady.
I was surprised that it wasn't Woolie animating the rat here, although we've seen Marvin animating under Woolie on the other 50s features. (The mice in Cinderella, the White Rabbit, and the Lost Boys)
John, I don't recall seeing a 'DVD extra' as I do not own it on DVD. I just have the film in one of my files. But, I have seen a Disneyland showing from 1954 where Walt shows parts of production to help promote the film.
I recommend the DVD. Lots of great behind the scenes info, e.g. about the development of the story.
