Interesting to see that, for the second time in his career, Frank Thomas is animating a scene where major secondary characters mourn the loss of the heroine.

Do you know why assistants like Henry Tanous or John Kennedy, whom we have seen credited previously in one or two shots, received animators credits in the main titles, with the likes of Blaine Gibson or Eric Cleworth (who were animators, and not assistants)?

This sequence is wonderful. I guess many would call it static and boring, but the song is extremely pretty, and, unlike modern animated films, it takes its time, you have time to enjoy what you're seeing, there is real atmosphere.

And it's nice to discover the random characters Milt Kahl animated here and there.

Thanks again, Hans, for these drafts; not being an animator, I don't have anything of real value to say, but I eagerly anticipate every post. The next one will be a favorite, as the sight of Maleficent sadistically enjoying Philp's capture is one of my cherished cinematographic moments!
