A. Film L.A. is the Los Angeles associate of A. Film of Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavia's largest and Europe's most ambitious animation studio. Productions include 'Albert,' 'Miffy the Movie,' and 'The Flight Before Christmas,' 'Help! I'm a Fish,' 'Terkel in Trouble!,' 'Asterix and the Vikings,' 'Journey to Saturn,' 'The Little Vampire,' 'The Giant Pear,' 'Up and Away!' and 'Checkered Ninja.'

Interested in animation since 1975, worked in Holland with Danish animator Børge Ring for four years (incl. on the Oscar-winning 'Anna & Bella'), then moved to Denmark in 1984. In SoCal since 2019.

Scene 9.1 is funny when his droopy ear falls down, beautifully animated by John Pomroy and I think I heard that name somewhere?
You had better, Steven! When later generations (late 80s, early 90s) learned how to draw and animate (outside od the Disney studios), there were two names strewn about as the genius draftsmen of the medium: Milt Kahl and John Pomeroy.
I may be wrong, but I think the haze of later years' production from Don Bluth's productions have sort of gotten John off that short-list again. It was definitely widely known that the best animation in the Secret of Nimb was John's. There was a certain awe among my colleagues here in Denmark who worked directly with him in Ireland, during the relatively short time he was there. I am glad I was able to tell him so last year at an Academy screening.
I believe John currently resides on the US east coast and paints civil war images - his hobby, it seems - he made a very nice painting for the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln show in Disneyland just last year!
Oh, its just that I'm so used to knowing animators from the Golden Age or around Walt's time, and I know some from around that period (1970's-1980's)
