This is, of course, one of Bill Tytla's masterpieces, Chernobog on the mountain top. Actually, this is much the same unit as the Stromboli sequence in Pinocchio and several sequences in Dumbo: Jaxon, Roberts, Stapp and Tytla...
Funny how scene 20 ia credited to its footage. Must be a typo...

Well, I can assure you it's definately Don Patterson - and obviously it was him because in the Fantasia credits for the "Bald Mountain" credits - it only mentions Don Patterson - while Ray Patterson animated on "Dance of the Hours".
What I also find funny is that some nutter in Scene 33 typed Bill Shull's name as "Skull", since there's a lot of skeletons in this sequence - or could that be a typo?
I'm guessing McManus is John McManus, because Dan MacManus was spelt as "MacManus", while John is "McManus".
Fixed the McManus already ;-)
What about the Don Patterson - or are you still unsure of the fact?
Not unsure, just busy ;-) Wrote it in. I REALLY have to see the film again soon, as I am posting "blindly" right now...
This is a ripe Bill Shull marathon! I didn't think he'd do so much over the other second string artists.
Wilfred Jaxon was quite consistent in his company throughout this era. I suspect Jaxon made the 'Golden Eggs' Donald Duck cartoon with Stapp and Jaques Roberts as well. Apaprently Bill Tytla animates on it, too! Tytla worked chronically with Jaxon, if we learn anything from Dumbo; it carried on up to 'Aquarela do Brasil'.
The Fantasia credits list both John McManus and Dan MacManus as working on this sequence.

Also, Bill Shull animated a couple of scenes of Stromboli (as well as several of Geppetto, but not always in Jaxon sequences). It also appears that Bob Carlson and John McManus animated hanging puppets in the Stromboli sequences, with Don Patterson animating the axed puppet (and most of his clock/music box animation is in a Jaxon sequence as well) and Lester Novros animating a shot of sleeping Geppetto... you guessed it, in a Jaxon sequence (seq. 1.1, scene 89)
Yeah, quite simple Jaxon used his animators that worked on Pinocchio.
Although Dick Anthony works on backgrounds here, and is believed to have done a few scenes of Jiminy Cricket, but I don't think that's him doing Jiminy. I think that it was Berk Anthony - Ward Kimball's assistant at the time.
dose anybody has an animator's draft of the Chipmunk Adventure (1987)?
