The film seems to be in two parts: a Jackson/Luske beginning, and a Geronimi ending...

Well, I was right about Woolie and the mice -- not sure if I read that somewhere or if it just seemed to make sense.
I guess Marvin Woodward is working under Woolie's animation supervision here.
Strange to see Harvey Toombs animating the Duke along with the Stepmother, but I guess he was animating them both under Frank Thomas.
There is some wonderful acting on Ollie Johnston's lackey character in this sequence.
Alas, this is probably my favourite sequence with the mice in it. Woolie Reitherman is a real inspiration to me. Shot 46.1 is a very funny shot - with Shot 46 supported by Toombs in which it makes the gag funnier, not funny looking, but the visualizing. Toombs was pretty good at that.
Marvin Woodward seems to have been Woolie's colleague in this film, and again in "Alice in Wonderland" doing the White Rabbit. Since on Mike Barrier's interview when Kahl had pity for Woodward that he thought he wasn't a good animator. Well, Woody does a good performance there.
Hal King does a good performance on the Duke, like the "take shot" of the ugly sisters. Thought that Frank did that scene, I did.
