Prod. 2074 - Peter Pan (XII) - Seq. 10.0 - Indian Dance
I am sorry to have kept you waiting, but it was crunch time in our latest production, "Piggy," which kept me from doing anything else.
Finally, here is the next sequence:

In these times of oft-misplaced and blown-out-of-propotions Political Correctness, this sequence is often noted as being racist against "Native Americans" but from where I come from it is just a lot of innocent fun and a highlight in the film, with some outlandish yet very controlled animation by Ward Kimball.

Yay! Indian sequence! I've been waiitng for this one. This has always been my favorite part of the film. It convinved me not to take up smoking, too.
I thought Cliff Nordberg would be here, doing shot 25 and others, but it's not to be. Instead, Chuck Nichols comes out of nowhere, and Jules Svendsen does too! Very interesting.
Once again, Kimball is with Ham Luske instead of Geronimi. Their fued must have really kicked into gear between here and Alice in Wonderland.
This is sure the highlight of the film - but not my FAVOURITE - but one of. Ward Kimball sure did get quite a bit of sequence to do - that probably means he probably did a few scenes of John and Michael towards the end...
Did NOT expect to see Charles Nichols return again - it looks like he returned to animate features briefly animating a minimum of animation on (Cinderella, Alice, and here) - and yet I wonder how he got screen credit in 'Alice'...
Perhaps this definitely shows Ward Kimball has finally boycotted Gerry...
Hal King animates John and Michael farily consistently throughout. I'm surprised it wasn't Milt Kahl animating John after smoking the peace pipe (following his animation of Pinocchio in the pool room), though I suppose it was animated under Milt's supervision.
Peter and Tigerlily are animated as a single unit, first by Hal Ambro, then by Don Lusk, then Ken O'Brien.
This is probably the most Don Lusk footage we've seen so far. As on the Flight to Neverland sequence, he gets a group shot where he animates several characters he wouldn't usually be working on (Lost Boys and Indians dancing).
We get a couple more uncredited animators here: Julius Svendsen and Charles Nichols. Nichols is cast pretty much the way you'd expect from other films: alongside Hugh Fraser, and probably working for John Lounsbery.
Steven and Zartok - Again it seems Geronimi was only used on the pirate ship sequences - just seems to be happenstance that Kimball didn't animate for him.
