Prod. 2057 - Fun and Fancy Free (XXI)  - Prod. 2048 - Bongo - Seq. 07.0 - Say It With A Slap

72 73 74 75
Directed by Jack Kinney assisted by Ted Sebern.
Layout by Don DaGradi.
This FINAL draft dated 4/11/1947 by Eva Jane "'jane" Sinclair.

Animation by Milt Kahl (supervising animator), Hal Ambro and Hugh Fraser. Effects by Jack Boyd.

Slapstick by Milt Kahl to "Say It with a Slap" by Eliot Daniels. I bet Milt enjoyed the relative freedom and fun that the realistic characters didn't often allow for!

Didn't expect to see Milt here! Like Ward Kimball, he takes most of the animation himself and gives a few action scenes to a deputy, in this case Hugh Fraser (did not expect to see him animating for Kahl either!).

Hal Ambro, also in Kahl's unit (as he would remain in later features) mostly animates the cutaways to Bongo, but also a few other scenes of the slap dance, and the other two lead characters towards the end of the sequence.

"I missed Fantasia and Dumbo, but I've had something to do with...all the rest of our feature length cartoons." - Milt Kahl.

And Fun and Fancy Free proves that point, he's not even credited on IMDB.
