Prod. 2004 - Fantasia (XIII)  - Seq. 8-5 (Rite of Spring: Family Life)

515253
Directed by Bill Roberts, assisted by Mike Holoboff. Layout by Dick Kelsey. This draft dated 6/18/40.

Animation by Ed Fourcher, Josh Meador, Brad Case, Paul Busch,
D. Stark, George DeBeeson, John Richard McDermott, Art Palmer, Phil Duncan, John Noel Tucker, John "Jack" Harbaugh, Woolie Reitherman, Steve Bosustow, John Sibley, Cornett Wood, Ed Aardal, Art Fitzpatrick, Frank Follmer and Joseph "Jack" Gayek.

I bet that McDermott and Tucker were called "Jack," as well, unless they were "Mac" and "Tuck." Was Sibley not called "Jack" because he was called "Sib?"

This is facinating! Lots of Goofy animators here, and Phil Duncan. Never would I ever expect John Sibley to work for Billy Bob. Unsurprisingly, John animates a walking scene.

Also, the scene that Sibley animates (in my opinion) lacks weight; maybe that's why we don't see much of him.

Although, he did work closely with Woolie Reitherman in those years on Goofy, so that's probably why they placed him there.

I had thought that the animation assignments on Fantasia were pretty well documented already, but I see that there were plenty of contributors whose names are even left out of the "uncredited animators" lists! I had assumed all the dinosaurs were animated by Woolie, Paul Busch and Phil Duncan...
